Linda LeQuesne
Send Out Cards

Linda has always believed in celebrating the special moments in people’s lives.  As a distributor for SendOutCards, she loves to help her many customers and distributors do the same.

SendOutCards is an online greeting card and gift service, where clients can choose from 15,000 different cards or create their own custom cards.  Once ordered, the cards are printed and mailed for you.  Various gift options are also included.

For years, Linda took great pleasure in making her own cards for special occasions.  So when a friend introduced her to SendOutCards, there was an immediate “fit”.  The opportunity appealed to Linda’s business side AND her creative side.

A woman of many talents, Linda is also Business Manager for two medical offices, overseeing 16 staff and serving 23 doctors.  She has been running this business from home for many years.  Her dream is to build her SendOutCards business to the point where she can transition her medical work to part-time.

How does she do it all?  Says Linda, she has a supportive spouse, her kids are grown and her clients often become friends, so it all blends together.  Her advice to new entrepreneurs:  Don’t focus on the sale.  Focus on developing the relationship.  Business will follow if it’s meant to.

Linda confesses to being addicted to the Grouse Grind, having hiked it over 500 times!  This season she hiked it 53 times, raising $2,000 for BC Children’s Hospital in the process. Linda serves as a Member at Large on the SWAN Executive.

Janet Clarke
Independent Consultant

Janet’s passion for helping others is evident.  As an Independent Sales Consultant with Norwex  she’s excited about the products she sells through home parties and via catalogue orders, spreading the word about making homes chemical free with products that are also safe for pets.  These environmentally friendly cleaning products as well as health care products have really made an impact on reducing her own allergies as well as improving her skin.

This is what led Janet to begin her business, sharing and educating others on the choices they have.  Even though her biggest fear was speaking in groups, she became a consultant and pushed through her fear by just doing it. She realized that she wasn’t the only one who experienced fear when speaking in a group and that gave her the courage to keep moving ahead.

Janet’s advice is to remember why you became an entrepreneur, trust your gut feeling and do what you love.  Also keep your business profitable by planning your budget out ahead of time.

In the past, Janet has worked with children running her own tutoring business for 4 years.  Something that holds a special place in her heart was when she worked with special needs children.  She also prides herself on being able to be there for her friends and family.

Janet loves gardening, her 2 cats and is a big Lions and Canucks fan. As a SWAN member, she has reunited with some old friends, made new ones and expanded her networking resources.
